TIPS FOR FUNDRAISING SUCCESSFULLY:
To help you get off to a start, here are some fundraising hints for getting your group motivated, and involving parents:
Getting & Keeping Volunteers
- Be clear about what you’re asking them to do-they’ll be more willing to help.
- Divide the work into small tasks-have volunteers choose one or two tasks.
- Be an example and keep volunteers motivated by being available to them.
- Work as hard as your volunteers and keep them organized.
- Always thank them, and let them know you appreciate them. This will keep volunteers coming to future efforts.
- Make sure all products are protected from heat when storing and selling!
Getting Parents Involved
- Make sure parents are well informed about the fundraiser. Besides notices and letters also send emails, send letters by mail, make phone calls and inform parents in person when they pick up and drop off their children.
- Be friendly and do not “push” parents into participating.
- Remind parents that successful fundraisiers help keep their costs down, and make it possible for your school or organization to provide their children or clients with quality services and experiences.
